Seo Architects partnered with MG Architecture Urbanism as the Architect of Record to transform and consolidate an existing supermarket and pharmacy into a new H-Mart Supermarket, serving the heart of the Asian community in Queens, NY.

 

The design team collaborated closely with H-Mart's internal Interior design team to coordinate the new layout and lighting design, ensuring the space aligns with the brand's vision while meeting New York City building codes. The project included replacing the freight elevator with a conveyor system to enhance functionality and creating a spacious walk-in refrigerator, freezer storage, and food preparation area in the Cellar. The dunnage structure was upgraded to support increased capacity, accommodating new rooftop HVAC and refrigeration units. Additionally, plumbing systems were reconfigured, and the sprinkler system was adjusted to align with the new layout.
